Can you help find a gas mantle supplier?

ROCHDALE reader Jim Burgess wonders if any readers can help him locate a supplier of a particular old gas mantle.

It is a Veritas Alpha Inverted Mantle G3769, universal fitting - or the same type by another manufacturer.

Southend reader Dr Tom Going replies: . Veritas are no longer in production, but the sizes are quite standard, and there should be an available alternative. Here's one possible source for mantles of a suitable type:
