From the John Bunyan Community Boat:
In preparation for the cruising season, new and existing volunteers of the John Bunyan Community Boat have taken to the water for pre-season training; important for the comfort and safety of our passengers as anyone who has witnessed getting a 34 ton, 72-foot, boat through Town Lock or turning at Kempston when the boat is as wide as the river will testify!
We are always looking for new volunteers, both onboard the boat as well as land-based roles, so if you would like to crew with great colleagues, enjoy being on the water and mixing with smiling passengers please contact us ([email protected]).
The John Bunyan will provide the ever-popular Jazz and Motown cruises for the music lovers amongst us with The Embankment Hotel offering a pre-cruise meal for passengers. This year we will also be introducing Irish music evening cruises.
Eye Spy and History cruises are planned for the young and young at heart! Not to mention the popular Afternoon Teas in conjunction with our partner hotel, the Bedford Mercure, Cream Tea, and Fish and Chip Suppers cruises. And the Return of Bedford River Festival will see the John Bunyan offering short cruises over the festival weekend.
