They will visit two schools in the city to assist with teaching and help with building maintenance. This work will include building a toilet for one school, while work in the second school involves an extension to the classroom provision. Alan will also be taking a large number of donations of second-hand clothes etc, and provide food packages to support the school community.

Nakuru is the third largest city in Kenya but is a very socially and economically deprived area. Many of the children live on or near the city refuse tip and have to pay rent for the privilege!

This is Alan’s second visit to Nakuru and the cost of the trip, including accommodation, inoculation and malaria tablets costs over £2250 and it is entirely self-financing.  it is here that Carefree Cruising stepped in to help! Alan is a part owner in both NB Alcedonia and NB Lilaea and Carefree director Artie Charmers, readily stepped in to offer a much-needed boost by providing sponsorship to Alan.
