Some of the tree has been cut back so it is now only restricting navigation, but please take care if passing.
Our contractors should be out today to remove the rest of the tree.
Update on 04/07/2023:
Contractors are on site at the moment.
It should be cleared by late afternoon/early evening.
NAVIGATION CLOSURE (8am Tuesday 4 July 2023 until further notice)
A large willow tree has fallen, blocking navigation north of Cookley Tunnel on the Staffordshire & Worcester Canal.
Our contractors are on the way. We are hoping this will be cleared within a few hours.
We will update the notice as soon as we receive a further update.
