Cllr. Tina Combellack, Mayor of Rushcliffe has completed a thrilling 40-feet abseil down Kings Mill Viaduct to raise money for her chosen charities.
This is what she had to say: “On May 14th I completed an abseil for my Mayoral charities the Nottingham to Grantham Canal Water Restoration Group and the Lincs/Notts Air Ambulance.
I am hoping to raise sufficient for at least 2 Air Ambulance flights which cost £4000 each just to fly, not to mention the medical interventions and blood transfusions which can be given in flight. I would also like to continue to help with the maintenance of the water in the Nottingham to Grantham Canal for its environmental and Physical & Mental health benefits. Neither of these organisations receive Government funding and are solely reliant upon donations. So if you can help, it would be much appreciated”.

The Just Giving Page www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding.mayor-abseiling-challenge remains open till July, so all donations and publicity are gratefully received.
