A message from The Worcester-Birmingham & Droitwich Canals Society:
Please support our wonderful team of ‘boat haulers’ who will be pulling on the ropes of our canal society narrowboat ‘Cecilia’ to haul her all the way from Alvechurch (Bridge 60) to Hopwood House (Bridge 67) on The Worcester & Birmingham Canal. The engine will be switched OFF for the whole trip and only muscle power will be used. The Alvechurch Choir will be making a guest appearance at the start and finish of this epic journey.
Kindly sponsor our volunteers by donating to The Worcester Birmingham & Droitwich Canal Society’s ‘Just Giving’ page or by cash or cheque or by bank transfer. Cheques made payable to The Worcester-Birmingham & Droitwich Canals Society and posted to the Treasurer (please email: [email protected] for address and further information).
All money raised will be for funding our community narrowboat ‘Cecilia’. This 70ft narrowboat is for use by people in the community for non-profit. The boat costs a lot of money to run and keep in good condition. It is there for use by any groups, societies or charitable organisations and for people who can’t afford to pay out for regular canal boat trips.
