Pump Out, Lancaster Services We are pleased to advise the pump out is now back in use at Lancaster Services. ADVICE (10am Friday 23 June 2023 until further notice) Please be advised the pump out facility at Lancaster Services is currently out of use due to an issue with the card reader. We have informed our contractors and await their attendance. An update will be provided on Tuesday 27th June Selby Toll Road Bridge The bridge has been repaired and navigation can resume. NAVIGATION CLOSURE (until further notice) Selby Toll Bridge is closed until further notice due to a fault with the structure. Update will follow once an inspection has been carried out. RADFORD SEMELE The tree has been cleared. The rest of the tree still hasn’t been removed so navigation is still restricted. We are hoping contractors will attend today to clear the rest of the tree. We will post an update as soon as we receive any further update. Please take care if passing. our contractors have been out and partially cleared the navigation the tree is passable with caution. The contractors will be returning tomorrow morning to remove the rest of the tree trunk this notice will be updated when the navigation is fully cleared NAVIGATION CLOSURE (6pm Thursday 22 June 2023 until further notice) A tree has fallen blocking the towpath and navigation. The local Operation team will access it on the morning of June 23rd and arrange clearance. Re-opened Eastwood Sanitary Station Contractors have attended and a deep clean of the facilities has been carried out. The facilities are open for use ADVICE (8am Friday 16 June 2023 until further notice) We are sorry to report a closure of the male section of the toilets at this facility. Contractors are required to carry out a deep clean. An update will be provided regarding attendance in due course. Bridge 79, Cockerham Road Bridge Please be advised navigation and towpath access has resumed at Bridge 79, Cockerham Road Bridge on the Lancaster Canal. Whilst navigation has resumed, contractors remain onsite, please pass through the area with care and listen to any advice that may be given by the team onsite. NAVIGATION CLOSURE (8.30am Thursday 22 June 2023 until further notice) Please be advised navigation and towpath access is currently closed at Bridge 79, Cockerham Road Bridge on the Lancaster Canal due to a large fallen tree. Our contractors have been informed and an update will be provided this afternoon. Purton Pump Out Further to the notice below, please be advised that Purton pump out has now been repaired and is fully operational. ADVICE (8.30am Thursday 22 June 2023 until further notice) Please be advised that the pump out facility at Purton is currently unavailable due to the cess pit being full. Our contractors are working to resolve the problem as soon as possible. We anticipate it being back open tomorrow once emptied. Lock 29, Banbury Lock Planned repairs to the damaged lock gate have progressed very positively today. Cotterstock Lock Update on 22/06/2023: The nesting bird in the life ring at Cotterstock Lock has moved on therefore our navigation advisory notice issued on 23 May 2023 is now rescinded. ADVICE (Tuesday 23 May 2023 until further notice) We would like to make you aware that there is a bird nesting in the life ring at Cotterstock Lock. We have provided an additional life ring at the lock for use instead to avoid disturbing the nest. Repaired The parts have been sourced and have been refitted. The Loco Bridge was successfully tested and is back in operational order. The Loco bridge has reopened. NAVIGATION CLOSURE (9am Wednesday 21 June 2023 until further notice) Contractors attended the bridge last night and the power pack has burnt out. The bridge will remain closed until the necessary parts are sourced. We will update the notice on Thursday morning. Elsan Further to the notice below, we are pleased to advise that the elsan at Devizes Wharf has now been repaired and is fully operational. Thank you for your cooperation during this time. ADVICE (8.30am Wednesday 21 June 2023 until further notice) We are sorry to advise that Devizes Wharf elsan has failed and is currently unavailable. Our contractors have been informed and we will update this notice as soon as we have more information. Near Bridge 18 This tree has been removed and the navigation is clear. A tree has come down near Bridge 18 on the Trent & Mersey Canal. Boaters can get past, but are asked to proceed with care. Unfortunately specialist contractors have yet to attend to remove the tree, but the work is planned in. We will update the website on the 3rd July. Bridge 47, Willow Cottage Bridge The tree has been cleared. Our contractors arrived yesterday but they were not able to clear the tree as they required bigger equipment. We have been informed they are on route again now. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and will post another update as soon as we receive it. Our contractors are due to arrive on site at some point this afternoon so we are hoping the tree will be cleared by then. Unfortunately an exact timeframe wasn’t given. NAVIGATION CLOSURE (11am Wednesday 21 June 2023 until further notice) A tree has fallen blocking navigation near Bridge 47 on the Caldon Canal. The team are on the way to clear the tree. We will post a further update as soon as we receive it. Isleham Lock Update on 22/06/2023: The mechanical issues at Isleham Lock have been resolved and the lock has now reopened. Our Emergency Closure Navigation Notice issued on 21/6/23 is therefore rescinded. EMERGENCY CLOSURE (Wednesday 21 June 2023 until rescinded) Please be aware the above lock is currently closed due to mechanical issues.
