Repairs have been completed on Leeds and Liverpool to a leak through the wash wall between bridges 32 and 31 near Burscough in West Lancashire on Wednesday the 16.8.2023.
A leak had been detected through the wash wall along the towpath side with the canal flowing into an adjacent farm field.
On Sunday the 16th of July two fibre dams where installed either side of the leak and repairs commenced with the water being returned to the canal on the 14.8.2023.
These two narrowboats, “Solstice” on the right going towards Liverpool and “Hirondelle” on the left pass each other being the first two through the repair site.
